Mono Argenteus Fish (Keeping Tips and Information) 1. Habitat and Characteristics
monoargentus

This is the Mono Argentus fish, also known as the demoon fish. The mono fish comes to us from the brackish water of Africa, Asia and Australia. This fish is measured up to 10 inches in the wild but in the aquarium trade they're typically a lot smaller by quite a few inches. This fish is typically peaceful with other fish but as it grows and matures it might start to prey on fish small enough to eat. So it's best to keep them with larger fish in the long range. But they should be kept with other mono fish as this fish is a shoaler fish. It like to be kept in groups to feel safe.

2. Feeding Information

When it comes to feeding the mono fish, it accepts all types of foods and benefits highly from veggie pellets. They eat in the middle section of their tank and personally, I recommend slow sinking foods like granules, frozen foods like frozen bloodworms also work great and live black worms work the best.

3. Tank Setup

As far as the aquarium setup goes for the mono fish they do enjoy coverage, so you're gonna want to keep some salt tolerant plants or some fake plants will work as well. Give them some courage where they can show but also leave some open space for them to swim. The mono fish should be kept with a water temperature in between 68 and 84 degrees.

They'll need well filtered alkaline water that's more on the hard side and because of this, it might be a better fish left for more experienced aquarist who can maintain brackish water in an aquarium. Because as juveniles this fish is not so sensitive to normal freshwater aquariums but as matures no need to be kept in brackish waters and may not do the best in freshwater.
