Tips For Taking Care of Your Rabbit Snail

Hello everyone! Today i am going to give you advice on how to take care of your rabbit snail. Let's start with the basics.

The origin of the rabbit snail scientific name Tylomelania Sp. is in Sulawesi, Indonesia. They are easy to keep and friendly to other inhabitants. Do not keep rabbit snails with snail-eating inhabitants like assasin snail, cichlids, goldfish or crayfish. The rabbit snail can live up to 3 years and grow around 6 to 8 cm. For the aquarium the ph needs to be around 7 to 8.5 the temperature needs to be around 25 to 28 degrees celcius.

Rabbit snails need to be kept in pair in an aquarium of at least 20 liters a substrate you can use sand. They like a planted aquarium but watch out with jaffa fern because they love this plant and will eat it. If not well-fed the rabbit snails will eat all the other plants as well. You need a lid on the aquarium because the will climb put and fall on to the ground. If you don't have a lid for food, the rabbit snails eats sinking tablets or vegetables like broccoli or cucumber.

And for breeding you don't have to worry about getting a plague like other snails, a rabbit snails is either female or male. So you need a female and male and a healthy aquarium for breeding. The snails only have one to two babies at once and give life birth. Extra watch out with the sin for your fish if it contains copper it can kill your snails.
